♥ Go Paddling

The Phoenicians believed that the days a mariner spent on the water did not count against his lifetime allotment. Though we do not want to imply that boating brings immortality, those who boat as much as possible can at least expect to die happy!

In the "Go Paddling" section you'll find the events and trips schedule, including a tab where members may add a trip or event to the list. Please keep in mind that official events and trips bear the ACA logo, and as such they are sanctioned and insured by the VPC/ACA (American Canoe Association). Trip Organizing 101 contains helpful information for our volunteer trip organizers.

Coming soon - the Water & Weather page will help you to dial in current river conditions, and will permit you to report on conditions you personally have observed. Look here for the USGS real-time gauges page, a doppler radar link, and summer dam release schedules. Need suggestions for where to plan your next paddling trip in Vermont? Check out the Rivers Almanac, and the Around Vermont in 30 Rivers Log.

Finally, on the Safety & Training page, look for the winter pool session signup, information on upcoming instructional clinics, and other safety-related links.

Don't forget to post your impromptu paddling plans on the VPC message boardVPCNews subscribers can also notify other VPCNews subscribers of their last minute paddling plans by sending an "urgent" email to vpcnews@vtpaddlers.net.
